The aims of the Arthur Phillip Chapter are:
Meetings: Held monthly on the 3rd Friday, from February to December. See Meetings/Chapter Meetings for dates, times and location.
Enthusiastic Members and Friends travel from far and wide to attend our friendly meetings, an excellent way to make new friends or find new descendants and exchanging your mutual family histories. Excellent guest speakers broaden our knowledge about early colonial history and our regular excursions are always an enjoyable day out. Occasionally we also embark on extended tours that have a special purpose or theme.
Chapter Patron: The Mayor of Ku-ring-gai Municipal Council is nominated annually as our Patron.
Everyone is welcome – it’s a great way to make new friendships, share in the collective research of members, and from the expert knowledge of guest speakers.

The Arthur Phillip Chapter was named in honour of Arthur Phillip, the dedicated Captain-General of the First Fleet and First Governor of New South Wales. The Chapter’s parameters extend from Sydney Harbour north to the Hawkesbury River and across to the Peninsula suburbs from Manly to Palm Beach, and affords a meeting place for
- Descendants of those who arrived with the First Fleet in 1788, known as a First Fleeter, (“Ordinary” and “Junior”);
- Spouse (“Spouse/Associate”) and Children (Junior) of a First Fleeter ;
- Descendants of Second and Third Fleeters and later convict and free settler arrivals (“Friend”);
- History "buffs" and those interested in Australian history (“Friend”).
- Note that you can join as a "Friend" while you trace your ancestry, then upgrade to full membership ("Ordinary").

The aims of the Arthur Phillip Chapter are:
- To promote membership of the Fellowship of First Fleeters and its aims;
- To encourage community interest in the First Fleet and early Australian history;
- To encourage the sharing of family history information;
- For friendship, fellowship and to expand knowledge of colonial times through specialist guest speakers and visits to places of historic significance.
- To work closely with the Family History section of the Ku-ring-gai Historical Society (their rooms are adjacent to ours) whose members can assist in family history research; and with other related organisations.
