ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP OF FIRST FLEETERS - ABN: 77 003 223 425
To live on in the hearts and minds of Descendants is never to die!
The Fellowship of First Fleeters (FFF) is a national organisation composed of descendants of those who arrived at Sydney Cove, New South Wales, with the First Fleet on 26 January 1788. The Fellowship was formed in 1968 and since then over 8000 descendants have established and verified their lineage, and been awarded membership of the Fellowship. First Fleet House is located at Woolloomooloo, an historic inner-city suburb of Sydney, Australia.
Membership is available Australia-wide and also to those who are resident overseas. A series of Chapters (or sub-branches) have been established as meeting places in Sydney suburbs (including the Arthur Phillip Chapter), regional New South Wales, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania, Queensland and Western Australia.
A Chapter is not a separate entity but an associated extension of the Fellowship of First Fleeters (FFF). The Arthur Phillip Chapter (APC) works closely with the national body, but all Chapters are run independently by their elected Committee from its own membership.
Membership for fellowship and friendship:
Ordinary membership is open to those who can prove their relationship to a First Fleeter – Convict, Marine, Seaman and/or Colonial Government Official;
Associate Membership is available for Spouses and Partners;
Pensioner and Student categories are available;
Junior Membership;
Friend Membership is available to those who cannot establish a direct First Fleet connection, are descendants of Second and Third Fleeters and later convict and free settler arrivals, and/or are interested in Australian colonial history and would enjoy fellowship with like-minded people.
Once your application has been accepted and you have been given a membership number, that number remains yours forever. At any time, family members can then link in to your First Fleeter lineage, making their application easier to process.
*Note: If an Application for an Ordinary Member + Associate Member is submitted together, at the same time, then only one Joining Fee of $20.00 is payable. If you apply and pay during April you will receive a 14 months' subscription.
